Inauguration of Son Ha Spice Factory, Creating Sustainable Value from Lao Cai’s Cinnamon Region
On August 13, 2026, Son Ha Spice & Flavorings Co., Ltd. officially inaugurated its spice manufacturing and processing factory in Xuan Ai Commune, Lao Cai Province. With a scale of more than 48,000 m², the factory was developed with a modern approach to meet stringent international market standards. NSN Construction & Engineering JSC is proud to serve as the Main Contractor, contributing to the development of this project.

From Lao Cai’s Cinnamon Region to a Modern Factory
The factory comprises various facilities, including production buildings and warehouses, a boiler house, an office building, a dormitory, a greenhouse and buffer area, a covered yard, auxiliary buildings, and other technical infrastructure. However, the significance of the project goes beyond its scale or the number of facilities. Located in one of the country’s major cinnamon-growing regions, the factory creates opportunities to process local agricultural products further, provide additional outlets for growers, and retain more economic value locally. Since commencing operations, the factory has obtained stringent international certifications such as Organic, BRC, and UEBT/RA, and has created employment for nearly 250 local workers, according to information from the Lao Cai provincial leadership. The factory’s raw material sourcing and production activities also generate demand for transportation, warehousing, packaging, equipment maintenance, food services, and other related services.

General Director Thach Hoang Ngoc represents NSN at the factory inauguration ceremony.
Behind the Inauguration Ceremony Are Many Days of Effort
To reach the inauguration day, NSN faced many challenges during the construction process: extended administrative procedures due to changes in the government administrative structure; shortages of certain construction materials caused by geopolitical fluctuations; shortages of labor and equipment amid strong market competition; and incomplete common infrastructure within the industrial cluster. Under these circumstances, NSN chose to proactively address each challenge. Additional manpower and equipment were mobilized, construction activities were carried out continuously with extended working hours, and priority was given to completing and handing over different sections to maintain the overall schedule. Notably, the fire prevention and firefighting acceptance inspection was completed on March 24, 2026, even though the industrial area did not yet have access to grid electricity.
Throughout the process, NSN maintained one clear principle: progress must never come at the expense of quality. Every construction decision was guided by three objectives: Quality – Safety – Client Satisfaction, ensuring that the project not only met the required standards upon completion but could also operate reliably, safely, and efficiently over the long term.
Therefore, the official inauguration of the factory was also a special day for the NSN team. The joy comes from seeing the project completed, while the pride comes from the value it will continue to create: more employment opportunities for local people, greater opportunities for the local agricultural supply chain, and further momentum for local economic development.
We sincerely thank Son Ha Spice & Flavorings Co., Ltd. for trusting NSN to accompany the project. We wish the factory efficient operations, sustainable development, and continued success in bringing the value of Lao Cai’s cinnamon region further afield.
