Amid the dynamic construction atmosphere at the Hoa Binh Food Production Factory Project in Phu Tho province, where NSN is serving as the EPC General Contractor, the NSN Skills Competition 2025 officially commenced in 14th November, 2025. Hosting the competition directly at an active project site is a special highlight this year, allowing for a more accurate evaluation of workers’ capabilities in real construction conditions.

Organized by the Industrial Construction Division in collaboration with the Human Resources & Administration Department under the delegation of the Board of Directors, the competition focuses on three key objectives: assessing skills, techniques, and work discipline; identifying high-potential individuals for future development; and fostering a healthy, motivating environment for professional growth. Through this initiative, NSN continues to build a strong, highly skilled workforce, laying the foundation for sustainable value creation across its projects nationwide.

Team-based format – a shift aligned with NSN’s value of “Collaboration”

A significant change this year is the transition from individual assessments to team-based practical tests. This new format reflects the true nature of work on construction sites, where quality and progress can only be achieved through seamless coordination and clearly shared responsibilities.

The team-based approach requires participants to discuss, analyze, and agree on the most efficient construction solutions—mirroring the way site teams work together every day. This allows the Organizing Committee to evaluate not only technical expertise but also teamwork skills and collaborative problem-solving—factors that have strengthened NSN’s construction reputation year after year.

Leadership insights on the value of the competition

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Phong – Deputy General Director of NSN, emphasized: “This year’s competition is unique, as it takes place directly at a major EPC project with strict requirements from the investor. It is an opportunity for our workers to truly demonstrate their capabilities while helping NSN’s leadership identify outstanding individuals for future development pathways.”

Sharing the same perspective, Mr. Diện – Manager of the Industrial Construction Division, highlighted the importance of skill standardization: “When construction standards improve, errors decrease, quality increases, and project profitability is enhanced. As NSN secures more general contracting projects, identifying and developing high-potential workers and ensuring consistent workmanship standards becomes even more essential. With strong preparation from all teams and well-designed assessments, I believe this year’s competition will deliver remarkable results.”
