Kyocera rooftop solar power project completed ahead of schedule

On May 29, 2020, at Thang Long II Industrial Park, the energizing ceremony of Kyocera Vietnam rooftop solar power project (SMT) took place.

Kyocera (KVC) is one of the largest Japanese corporations, famous in the world for its multi-industry and multi-field business. Kyocera also participates in sponsoring and organizing many large-scale programs. To contribute to society, protect natural resources, protect the environment, and introduce quality products produced by KVC itself, the KVC factory's Board of Directors decided to install a solar power system on the roofs of Factory 1 and Factory 2 in Hung Yen, although radiation conditions in the Northern region are not as high as in Central and Southern Vietnam.

The total installed area of solar panels on the roofs of Factorie 1 and Factory 2 is 6,500 m2. With 3,432 PV panels, each with a capacity of 280 Wp, the total capacity of the entire system is 960.96 kWh. Estimated electricity output is 1,061 kWh/year, equivalent to 4.5% of the total capacity of KVC. The system reduces emissions by about 509 tons of CO2/year.

The project started in March 2020, and until May 23, 2020, it was successfully energized, 23 days ahead of schedule. Early energization helped the investor save 200 million VND. PV panels are designed based on special technology from Kyocera and tested through strict processes, bringing the project's lifespan up to 30 years.

The installed system is highly appreciated by the investor for NSN's technique and experience. With long-term cooperation in previous M&E projects and the success of this rooftop solar project, it promises to open up opportunities for cooperation in new fields when solar power is developing into a trend worldwide.

NSN's BOD went to the construction site to check the progress of the KVC Vietnam solar power project.
